Hemoglobin: 8.6 (down)

Platelets: 15 (up)

Still under that 30 threshold for platelets, so it was day 9 in a row of platelet transfusions.  ZiLong is definitely starting to feel a bit better, but still is not up for taking walks yet. I think it's been just over a week that he has not left the room, though no fevers today so that's an improvement.  On the downside, he did have an allergic reaction to platelets, so hopefully it was a "one off" and not the start of an every time reaction.  

Including a picture of his pole as it's starting to get pretty complicated.  Because of the VOD, he has several extra meds, some pills, some liquid meds, some IV meds.  He has two lines going into his Hickman, so he can only have two medicines at a time.  In addition to fluids, he has a morphine pump that gives him a slow stead stream of morphine, as well as a button which he can push if he needs more.  The two large boxes on the bottom are the general long infusion tfor hings like liquids and platelets and blood.  There is a small box on the pole in the middle that controls his morphine which has to always be available, except when two other things have to run and then it gets temporarily switched off.  There are two "syringe pushers" for smaller meds like the one medicine for his VOD that he is getting for 2 hours every 6 hours, followed by lasiks which helps him to release some of the fluid his liver is holding onto.  Then there is also the wall mounted monitor that he is also hooked to by a sensor taped to his finger to monitor his blood oxygen level and his pulse because of the morphine he is on. It makes for a lot of things to unplug if he does want to move from his bed!

The good thing is, that even though he is not getting up, he is sleeping a lot and is not super uncomfortable.  He is just tired and worn out in general.  He is working on eating but often gets frustrated because foods do not taste like anything, so we just keep trying new things.  So far Lindor chocolates win for having "a taste" where most other things fail!
