Red furry incentives...

So this week's super incentive for our almost 3 year old to tummy crawl has been the gift of an ELMO DIAPER.

This may not sound exciting, but we normally use Bum genious all in one cloth diapers- they are wonderful vivid bright colors and comfy! Yay! But we of course have some disposables at home for if we go out of town for if we get behind on diaper washing and need a diaper in a pinch, etc. Just in case. Well this week Violet saw an elmo dispoable diaper and HAD to have it...so I told her, "Okay, if you do ALL your tummy crawling this morning, you can have an elmo diaper." She did, and so we changed her diaper to an Elmo diaper. Same thing Wednesay, same thing Thursday.

Well, yesterday I go to pick her up from school and the diaper bag is EMPTY, and I can see there is ONE diaper missing from the stack in her room. I thought, What? How can she have had only ONE diaper change all day??? So I go to the room where she is at (they combine kids into a single room at the end of the day) and her teacher said that she peed 2x in the potty, and DESPERATELY wanted to keep the Elmo diaper on! She asked if that was okay and I said YES, of course, if it's dry, why not?

So she was SO enamored with this elmo diaper, that not only did she get her morning tummy crawling done, but she peed in the potty two times instead of in her diaper in order to PRESERVE it.

Hysterical. If we get potty training as an indirect benefit from NR, all the better! :)
