We started Neuro Feedback with Violet in July. She is doing well and it seems to be helping her. She has already made SO much progress with Neuro Reorg, that there is not a tremendous amount for the NFB provider to do, but we have found that probably within the first few sessions, it's helped her to calm. It's not exactly "calming"- but what I would say is that it helps her to be able to withstand a greater amount of overstimulation before she gets dysregulated. And I think it will help with her memory too- those really seem to be the two remaining issues that we are dealing with. Dealing with overstimulation, and memory recall. We are still knee deep in Neuro Reorg, in fact we have an evaluation tomorrow. Fingers crossed that Violet will finally (?!) get a vacation from tummy crawling and that Maddie will graduate from tummy crawling! Both girls are ready for it and I can hardly blame them! It's a lot of work, but they are good sports about it. It's been 2 years since we started with Violet and 18 months since we started with Maddie, and I'm really hoping we are in the home stretch. Violet simply is not the kid she was 2 years ago. She is HERSELF now. She is her beautiful, sweet, happy, loving and FUNNY little self! She has such a great sense of humor, she is sure to be the class clown! Maddie has made some great strides as well!
We did "sunday parkways" last week and the girls both rode their own bikes! They are both fantastic on bikes but I don't think they had ever ridden even 1 mile before. These strong girls rode the whole loop! 7 miles!!! I could not believe it...but I should have known they would persevere right until the very end!!
We are now heading into Labor day weekend and the girls will be back to school on Tuesday. Violet will be at the same school but in the older group now, and Maddie will be in 1st grade.
We are ready for a great school year ahead. Both of these girls are just amazing and strong girls! They have worked so hard in their own healing, and show us every day what beautiful hearts they have and what strong hearts they have! I'm so lucky to be their Mama!
