Rumors are pointing to the CCAA making it through the 23rd and possibly to the 27th....with an LID of 2/24, that puts me in range of maybe getting my referral in this round!
I had two rather crazy "ladybug moments" last Wednesday. The first came when I went at 7 am to pick up my turkey- I had ordered a free range turkey for the first time this year. When I went to get it, there was a sign saying if you bought a Diestel farm turkey you could have a free 5 lb bag of potatoes & a box of chicken broth. I went up to the front of the store where the potatoes were only to find the brand was "Ladybug Potatoes". No kidding. I have never seen or heard of this brand before, but here they were- my free potatoes were "Ladybug" brand!
I smiled and thought, REFERRALS! Then, as I dragged myself back to reality I thought, COINCIDENCE!
So I come to work and it's one of my employee's last day before her maternity leave. She received a fedex package with a gift from a colleague of ours in another state. She opened it at her desk and was reading the package (She is Korean and She didn't understand what it was at first) so she said, "what is this?" and started reading "Measure your child and mark with the enclosed velcro attached ladybug and turtle markers..."

Of course I jumped when she said Ladybug (As I hadn't seen what she was opening) and said, "what did you say?" My other employees know enough by now to know what the Chinese adoption community thinks about ladybugs, so they both stopped too and said, "did you say ladybug??" I had already told them the story of my 7 am potato ladybug encounter, so having this one happen just a few hours later was quite a surprise!
Coincidence? Fortune Telling? Who knows. I guess we'll all find out in the next week or so.
But I do know that even if I'm not already matched with my daughter, that my file is probably already in the same ROOM as my daughter's file. And that, is a pretty crazy idea right now. That at the end of this long 3 year wait, it's finally happening...I am finally going to become a Mama.
