Day +10

 First the numbers:

WBC: 1.0 (down)

ANC: 170 (down)

Hemoglobin: 8.4 (down)

Platelets: 10

Since his platelets were under 20, he had a platelet transfusion today.  ZiLong spent some time juggling his soccer ball and finished up his math homework.  We saw Bertha (the crow) out the window and Mabel too, but only managed a photo of Bertha.

We have a great view of the helicopter landing pad outside our window, so ZiLong was watching it fly away laying on my bed with his binoculars!

Our social worker came by with some gifts today and ZiLong opened a pair of slippers that he loves, but we have no idea who it came from!  Please accept our gracious thanks for this kind and generous gift if you are a blog or facebook reader! Thank you!!

ZiLong's hair had started coming out a bit last night, and today it was coming out a lot more.  He was so annoyed with it by mid afternoon that he decided he wanted to shave it when Maddie and Jeremy arrived.  Maddie had fun finding crazy hair cut photos to do "on the way" to fully shaving it, and a few photos are shared here.

I'm not sharing the photo of him without a hat yet because, while I think he looks great, he is still getting used to the idea of having no hair. If he gives me permission to share photos without his hat, I will do so.

While he was certainly ready for it to go, the feeling afterwards of not having it was more than he expected.

There have definitely been more sores today and he slept for awhile in the afternoon.  We are starting to increase pain meds to keep his pain managed.
