Nina & Dumpling

Last saturday was our Single adoptive Mama's get together- we meet once a month at a local coffee shop with a kids play area & it's fun to see everyone & catch up with their lives over the past month.
Of course there was Dumpling:

And this cutie Patootie is Nina.
Take a good look at that face...! She is quite a cutie, and quite a charmer too! About 3 weeks ago my friend Julie's brother Jim moved to Portland & is staying with me. He has been a very fun roomate & has somehow earned the name "houseboy". He has come out with my friends from work, & even came Sunday to a single Mamas bbq at Mary's house. We had 3 Mamas & 3 little ones between 2 and 2 1/2, and 3 waiting mamas. As we were sitting on the back porch eating, Little Miss Nina went into the kitchen & was peeking out the back door. Her mom asked her what she was looking at, and she said "Jimmy..." After dinner we went across the road to the park to play awhile- with Miss Nina carrying her little pink & purple purse & calling out "Jimmy, look at me!" when she was on the swings, "Jimmy, let's run!" "Jimmy you're silly...!" So we head back after awhile, and in the house Nina announces, "Jimmy I love you!" Later she comes in the kitchen & says to me "Can you invite Jimmy to another party??" Yes, she was smitten. Look out girls....Jimmy is spoken for by a sweet little 2 1/2 year old from China!

Tonight we had Village cooking night. It was very exciting since it was the first one since the Village has a toddler in it's ranks! Miss Dumpling after dinner reading...
We made some pineapple chicken & pineapple upside down cake for dessert. This was a cake that Cindy's Mom used to make, and it was her Dad's favorite. Dumpling loved helping out with the pineapples & cherries...although once it was cooked, she *only* wanted the cake and the whipped cream! Smark cookie!

What fantastic girls! It sounds like a wonderful time. It's so cute when the little ones get crushes on the big guys.
