Day +24

 Day +24

WBC: 1.2 (down)

ANC: 130 (down)

Hemoglobin: 8.7 (down)

Platelets: 17 (down)

As you can see it was a "down all around" day, but not to be discouraged, our NP and Doctor said his liver felt better/softer today than it had at the beginning of the week.  And the numbers are more about trends than about absolute numbers.  They did not seem concerned that the numbers were all down, and I anticipate some of them will be up tomorrow.

The kitchen has graham crackers, and we already had some chocolate, so ZiLong and I had the idea to make microwave S'mores at the hospital!  He delivered them to a few other kids on our floor as well- it's sure hard to enjoy food when you can't taste it, but he did well enough and a couple of other kids also could taste it.  Dr Walters, who is the head of the program here as well as our on call Doctor this week, said that food tends to taste like styrofoam.  Not super fun when you want your food to taste like food!  ZiLong came in the kitchen with me and even got one of the nurses to push him back to the room in a wheelchair he found sitting in the hallway!!  This just after he ran down the length of the hallway!
