Our first Family Hike

This weekend was unseasonably warm so we went for our first family Hike on Sunday. We just went to Mt Tabor, but it was also Maddie's first time to sit on and experience GRASS!
She seemed a little unsure at first, but quickly got in to it. Especially when she saw that she got to eat Puffs while hanging out in the great outdoors.
My mom got me a Kelty Kids backpack a few years ago for Christmas, so I was happy to FINALLY put it to some use! Although, truth be told, this wasn't her first time in it. I found last week that if I put her in the backpack, I can do things in the kitchen!

At one point while we were walking she wanted to have her hand on Jeremy's shoulder- so there we were, walking along with her appearing to "push" him along. It's not the first time she has had to make sure she has all 3 of us connected- we were at a store a few weeks ago and I had her in the ergo carrier, but she was holding onto Jeremy's thumb. He was also pushing a cart, so it made it a little challenging, but he was more than happy to oblige!
When we got up to the top we found another sunny spot and sat to enjoy the sun and let Maddie explore the grass a little more. She wobbled back at one point and ended up on her back, and just started giggling at us. Of course we encouraged it by making funny faces, but she was having such a wonderful time! It was absolutely my favorite part of the weekend.
She is VERY curious!
It was a great Hike- we look forward to many more when the warmer weather returns for real!
